Study on Wear Resistance of Nickel Cladding Layer with Imitation Shell Convex Strip Structure on the Surface of 7075 Aluminum Alloy Drill Pipe

In this study, a nickel cladding layer with bionic convex strip structure was applied to the surface of an aluminum alloy drill pipe, and laser technology used improve wear resistance pipe. Firstly, by observing morphological characteristics shell surface, ratio width strips spacing between obtained as 0.39–0.53, thus model constructed. Numerical simulations were performed, results showed that reduced 77.6% compared smooth structure. Subsequently, layers both structures coated on pipe using powder material, tests performed. The microstructure, composition, hardness behavior analyzed scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometer, microhardness tester. It found mainly consists Al3Ni2, there is transition matrix, whose lower than Al3Ni2. addition, groove space can be formed strips, which effectively reduces frequency debris flow. show 74.0%. Similar in numerical experiments verified designed significantly pipes.
